Redefining “College Football”
On November 6, 1869, New Jersey (Rutgers) defeated Princeton (6–4) in the first College Football game ever played. Over 150 years of history and tradition have culminated into the uniquely cherished institution that we still love today.
Despite countless generations of gridiron excellence, though, “College Football” remains a term without universal meaning. The term is often used to describe singular classifications, such as the Football Bowl Subdivision, Division I, or NCAA, but rarely the entire landscape.
